Three U.K. Men Charged in 2023 Death of Ontario Restaurateur Sharif Rahman

Sharif Rahman, a 44-year-old restaurant owner in Owen Sound, Ontario, died in August 2023 after being assaulted over an unpaid $150 dining bill outside his establishment, The Curry House.
Three men from the United Kingdom—Robert Evans, 24, charged with manslaughter, and Robert Busby Evans, 47, and Barry Evans, 54, both charged with accessory after the fact—have been arrested in connection with the case.
The suspects fled Canada shortly after the incident, prompting a 17-month investigation involving international collaboration to secure their arrests abroad.
The accused are currently in the U.K., awaiting extradition to Canada. Authorities have not provided a timeline for the extradition process.
Rahman, remembered for his generosity and community involvement, left behind a wife and young daughter. His widow continues to run The Curry House, and a memorial scholarship has been established in his honor.
