TikTok Rolls Out Nationwide Amber Alerts to Help Locate Missing Children

The platform's partnership with NCMEC brings real-time alerts to users' For You feeds, following a successful pilot program in Texas.

TikTok users in designated search areas will now receive Amber Alerts directly in their For You feeds, based on their device's IP address.
Alerts will include critical details such as the missing child’s photo, description, last known location, and other key information.
The nationwide launch builds on a Texas pilot program that garnered over 20 million views and drove 2.5 million visits to NCMEC's website.
TikTok is also donating advertising credits to amplify messaging on youth safety and missing children through its platform.
This initiative aligns TikTok with other platforms like Facebook and Instagram, which integrated Amber Alerts in 2016 and 2022, respectively.
