Tom Cruise Accepts Award Midair While Piloting Own Plane During Stunt

Tom Cruise won the 2023 MTV Award for Best Performance in a Movie for Top Gun: Maverick.
In a pre-recorded acceptance speech, Cruise piloted the P-51 Mustang plane he flew in Top Gun: Maverick.
The movie Top Gun: Maverick was the highest grossing film of 2022 and the first of Cruise's to surpass $1 billion at the box office.
Cruise is known for performing his own stunts and thanked viewers for supporting the Top Gun sequel.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards aired on MTV, BET, Comedy Central, and VH1.
