Tom Cruise Honored with BFI Fellowship for Contributions to UK Film Industry

The British Film Institute will celebrate Cruise's career with a month-long retrospective and a formal ceremony in May 2025.

Tom Cruise has been named the recipient of the British Film Institute's highest honor, the BFI Fellowship, recognizing his decades-long career and impact on the UK film industry.
The award will be presented on May 12, 2025, at the BFI Chair’s Dinner in London, with a public In Conversation event featuring Cruise scheduled for May 11.
The BFI will host a month-long retrospective of Cruise's career in May, screening 27 of his films at BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX.
Cruise expressed gratitude for the honor, highlighting his 40+ years of filmmaking in the UK and his ongoing commitment to working with local talent and showcasing UK locations.
This recognition places Cruise among previous distinguished BFI Fellows, including Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, and Tilda Swinton.
