Tourism Surge in Sachsen-Anhalt Despite Shorter Stays

Visitor numbers in Sachsen-Anhalt rose by 5.2% in August, while overnight stays slightly decreased.

Sachsen-Anhalt attracted approximately 371,800 tourists in August, marking a 5.2% increase compared to the previous year.
The average length of stay for visitors decreased from 2.7 to 2.5 days, with overall overnight stays dropping by 0.3%.
Anhalt-Wittenberg experienced the most significant growth, with a 14.9% rise in visitors and an 8.4% increase in overnight stays.
In contrast, the Magdeburg, Elbe-Börde-Heide region saw a decline, with 1.4% fewer guests and a 13.9% drop in overnight stays.
Most tourists (91.6%) visiting Sachsen-Anhalt were domestic travelers.
