Trailblazing feminist educator Alice Shalvi dies at 97

Alice Shalvi, an esteemed feminist and educator, passed away at age 97.
Shalvi founded the Pelech school for girls in Jerusalem and the Israel Women's Network.
Born in Germany in 1926, she later immigrated to Israel in 1949 after escaping the Nazis.
Initially a social worker, she became a principal and championed gender equality in education.
Shalvi established a gender studies department and led the Israel Women's Network.
