Trevor Noah Launches New Spotify Podcast 'What Now?' with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as First Guest

Trevor Noah back in the podcast sphere, aiming to have deep, timely conversations rather than celebrity promotion, with a vision for a weekly show that feels connected to current events.

  • Trevor Noah, former host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, has launched a new Spotify podcast titled 'What Now?' where he plans to host deep, timely conversations with his guests. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is the first guest on the show.
  • Noah's focus for the podcast will be on 'A-list conversations' rather than simply interviewing A-list celebrities. He intends to dive deeper into how his guests see the world and talk about how they feel about their public image.
  • In the first episode with Dwayne Johnson, they discuss a wide range of personal topics including Johnson's experiences of the backlash he received for trying to raise funds for the Maui wildfires, his life and his childhood struggles with depression.
  • Noah plans to host a variety of guests on the podcast, including actors, athletes, scientists, politicians and CEOs with an aim to keep the conversations contemporary and connected to the zeitgeist. He's committed to taping these interviews close to release for relevance.
  • The launch of 'What Now?' marks Noah's return to the podcasting space after previously hosting Luminary's 'On Second Thought' in 2019. It also joins the list of many other late-night TV hosts like Conan O’Brien, Craig Ferguson, and Chelsea Handler who have also ventured into the podcast domain.
