The task force will increase law enforcement presence, enforce quality-of-life laws, and strengthen pretrial detention policies to improve public safety.
It will focus on immigration enforcement, including apprehending and deporting undocumented migrants, while monitoring D.C.'s compliance with federal immigration laws.
Urban beautification efforts will include restoring federal buildings, removing graffiti, and clearing homeless encampments on federal land.
The task force will also assist in accrediting D.C.'s crime lab and support the Metropolitan Police Department in recruiting and retaining officers.
