Trump Nominates Hung Cao and Paul Dabbar to Key Administration Roles

Hung Cao is tapped as under secretary of the Navy, while Paul Dabbar is nominated for deputy secretary of commerce.

Hung Cao, a retired Navy captain and former Virginia Senate candidate, has been nominated as under secretary of the Navy.
Paul Dabbar, a former under secretary of energy for science, is nominated as deputy secretary of commerce to focus on global trade and technology leadership.
Cao, a Vietnamese refugee and Naval Academy graduate, served 25 years in Special Operations and held Pentagon roles managing the Navy's $140 billion budget.
Dabbar, a Navy veteran and Columbia University graduate, previously worked on energy innovation and national security during Trump’s first term.
Both nominations were announced on Trump’s Truth Social account and will require Senate confirmation.
