The train conductor alerted authorities, prompting the deployment of 60 police officers at Munich Central Station on Saturday evening.
Police discovered graffiti and stickers on the train, with the extent of the damage currently under investigation.
Fans were temporarily detained at the station but released after no immediate complaints were filed by passengers.
