Twins Shortstop Returns After Gruesome Injury, Oral Surgery

Twins shortstop Kyle Farmer has been activated off the 10-day injured list after missing 25 games due to oral surgery following a pitch to the face.
Farmer had a procedure to realign four bottom teeth and suture together lacerations on his lower lip after being hit by a pitch that was clocked at 92 miles per hour.
He received 35 stitches and four root canal procedures as part of his recovery.
Farmer batted over .300 during his rehab assignment in Triple-A and will now wear a face guard on his helmet for protection.
The shortstop is ready to rejoin his team after a lengthy recovery from a frightening injury on the baseball field.
