Overview

  • The encounter occurred on April 15, 2025, in the Kilam-Bargum forest along the Kondagaon-Narayanpur district border.
  • Haldar, a Maoist commander with an ₹8 lakh bounty, and Rame, an area committee member with a ₹5 lakh bounty, were identified as the deceased.
  • The operation was carried out by a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar Fighters, specialized units of the state police.
  • Security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle, explosives, and other weapons from the site, with search operations still ongoing.
  • This year, 140 Maoists have been killed in Chhattisgarh, 123 of them in the Bastar division, as part of intensified anti-insurgency efforts.
