Two Knife Attacks in France Leave Victims in Critical Condition

A suspect in the Barr-Strasbourg train stabbing has been apprehended, while the attacker in the Lille incident remains at large.

A 19-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife on March 21, 2025, in Lille and remains in critical condition.
The attack occurred on Rue de Douai in the Moulins district as the victim was entering her building; the suspect fled and is still unidentified.
Police have circulated a photo of the Lille suspect, described by witnesses, as part of the ongoing investigation led by the Lille prosecutor's office.
A separate knife attack on March 22, 2025, left a 53-year-old man critically injured after being stabbed three times in the abdomen on a Barr-Strasbourg train.
The 17-year-old suspect in the train attack, known to police but without prior convictions, has been apprehended, and an investigation for 'attempted homicide' is underway.
