Two Men Arrested for Rape and Robbery of 19-Year-Old Woman in Pune

The suspects reportedly threatened the victim and her cousin at knifepoint, recorded them, and later gang-raped the woman before stealing her gold jewelry.

  • The incident occurred on Saturday night, March 1, in Shirur taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra, when the victim and her cousin were at a secluded spot.
  • The suspects, identified as Amol Pote (25) and Kishore Kale (29), allegedly threatened the pair with a knife and forced them to perform sexual acts, which they recorded on a mobile phone.
  • The men then reportedly gang-raped the 19-year-old woman and stole her gold nose ring and pendant before fleeing the scene.
  • Police arrested the suspects within hours of the crime being reported, recovering the stolen jewelry and the phone used in the incident.
  • The accused are currently in police custody until March 7 as investigations continue, with charges of gang rape and robbery filed against them.
