Two Noida Vendors Die of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning After Leaving Stove On Overnight
The young men, who ran a food stall, succumbed to suffocation caused by smoke and gas buildup in their poorly ventilated room.
- Upendra (22) and Shivam (23), food stall operators in Noida, were found dead in their rented accommodation in Basai village, Sector 70.
- The victims left a pot of chickpeas cooking on a gas stove overnight, which filled their room with smoke and carbon monoxide.
- Police stated that the room's poor ventilation and the closed door led to oxygen depletion and toxic gas accumulation.
- Neighbors noticed smoke coming from the room, broke down the door, and rushed the unconscious men to a hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.
- Authorities have sent the bodies for post-mortem to confirm the cause of death, though initial findings indicate suffocation and carbon monoxide poisoning.
