Two South Side Shootings Leave One Child Dead, Two Injured

A boy under 10 was critically injured in a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood on Thursday evening and remains hospitalized.
An 8-year-old boy was fatally shot in an Englewood home, while a 5-year-old boy sustained a graze wound to the head and is in good condition.
Both injured boys and the deceased child were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Police detained a man outside the Englewood home, reportedly with blood on his hands and clothing, though no charges have been announced.
