Two-Year-Old Breaks Record as Youngest to Reach Everest Base Camp

Carter Dallas, accompanied by his parents, reached the base camp during their ongoing one-year trip around Asia.

  • Two-year-old Carter Dallas is believed to be the youngest person ever to reach Everest Base Camp, breaking the previous record held by a four-year-old from the Czech Republic.
  • Carter reached the base camp, which is located 17,598ft above sea level, on October 25, 2023, with his parents Ross and Jade Dallas.
  • The Dallas family, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, is currently on a one-year trip around Asia, during which they decided to undertake the Everest trek.
  • Despite the risks associated with the trek, Carter reportedly coped better than his parents, who both experienced slight altitude sickness.
  • The family's year-long journey has also included visits to Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Malaysia, and Singapore, with Carter developing a taste for exotic cuisine and learning about different cultures.
