Overview

  • An unauthorized actor accessed Nationwide Recovery Service’s systems in July, potentially compromising names, addresses, Social Security numbers, financial account data and medical information for about 38,000 UChicago Medicine patients.
  • UCM Medical Group has terminated its contract with Nationwide Recovery Service and implemented additional security measures.
  • The medical group has sent breach notifications to all affected patients.
  • Nationwide Recovery Service reports no evidence so far that the compromised information has been misused.
