Ukrainian Sniper Sets New World Record with 2.36-Mile Kill Shot

The shot, made with a domestically-produced rifle, surpasses the previous record set by a Canadian sniper in 2017.

Ukrainian Special Forces claim a soldier has made the world's longest sniper kill shot at a distance of 2.36 miles, surpassing the previous record by 0.2 miles.
The shot was reportedly made with a domestically-produced Ukrainian rifle, the Volodar Obriyu, or 'Lord of the Horizon'.
The record-breaking shot was reportedly made on November 18, according to local media in Ukraine.
In 2017, a Canadian special forces sniper set the previous record with a successful shot at a distance of 3,540 meters in Iraq.
The ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, which began with Russia's invasion in February 2022, is nearing its two-year mark.
