United Airlines has suspended pilot Ibrahim Mossallam after he praised Hamas' attack on Israel as 'brave' on social media.
Mossallam's comments have sparked backlash, with some customers stating they no longer feel safe flying with United Airlines.
Mossallam is also a board member of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has not yet responded to requests for comment.
The October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel, which Mossallam referred to, resulted in over 1,200 deaths and around 240 hostages.
This is not the first instance of a pilot being suspended for making controversial statements on social media, with Air Canada previously placing a pilot on a no-fly list for anti-Israel comments.
