UP Government Distributes Free Gas Refills to 1.86 Crore Families for Festive Season

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launches ₹1,890 crore subsidy under Ujjwala Yojana, benefiting families during Holi and Ramzan.

The Uttar Pradesh government allocated ₹1,890 crore to provide free LPG cylinder refills to 1.86 crore families under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
The initiative coincides with the festivals of Holi and Ramzan, aiming to support families in celebrating without financial strain.
The Ujjwala Yojana, launched in 2016, has benefited 10 crore families nationwide, including nearly 2 crore in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the elimination of corruption in LPG distribution and the scheme's role in improving women's health and well-being.
Additional welfare measures announced include free rations for 15 crore people, financial aid for girls' education, and increased marriage assistance for women starting April 2025.
