Overview

  • Yogi Adityanath’s administration has set a state-wide goal of eliminating child labour by 2027 through coordinated action across eight key departments.
  • The Panchayati Raj Department will conduct village-level surveys to identify working children and share findings with the Labour and Education ministries.
  • New district-level task forces will harness panchayat data to fast-track interventions tailored to local needs.
  • In collaboration with UNICEF, the government will release a booklet detailing education, rehabilitation and welfare schemes and expand outreach via Bal Seva Yojana, Child Helpline and Atal Residential Schools.
  • A large-scale public awareness event is scheduled for June 12 in Lucknow on World Day Against Child Labour, engaging NGOs, employers and labour groups.
