U.S. and China pledge to strengthen communication in constructive Vienna talks

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan met with top Chinese official Wang Yi in Vienna this week to reestablish communication.
The meeting was the highest level of engagement with China since the spy balloon incident in February.
The two sides discussed key issues like Russia's war in Ukraine, Taiwan, and detained Americans.
Both sides agreed to maintain open communication and called the talks "candid, substantive and constructive."
There are signs tensions between the U.S. and China could be easing.
