US Regulators Approve Sale of Lab-Grown Chicken for the First Time

Two California companies received approval from US regulators to sell chicken grown from animal cells.

The lab-grown meat will initially only be available at exclusive restaurants due to high costs and limited production.
More than 150 companies around the world are working on cultivating meat from cells, including pork, lamb, fish and beef.
Experts say cultivated meat could take years to become widely available and match the cost and taste of traditional meat.
