USFL Announces Awards for Top Offensive and Defensive Players

Mark Thompson of the Houston Gamblers was named Offensive Player of the Year after setting a USFL record with 14 rushing touchdowns this season.
Frank Ginda of the Michigan Panthers was named Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 104 tackles.
Thompson is expected to draw interest from NFL teams and his coach believes he has the talent to play at the next level.
Ginda dropped weight this offseason to improve his speed and chances of returning to the NFL.
The USFL will announce its Most Valuable Player and Sportsman of the Year on Friday ahead of Saturday's championship game.
