Vadodara Accident: Law Student Arrested After Fatal Crash Involving Speeding Car

Eyewitnesses allege intoxication as the driver blames potholes and airbag deployment for losing control, leaving one dead and four injured.

Rakshit Chaurasia, a 20-year-old law student, was arrested after his speeding car collided with two-wheelers in Vadodara, killing Hemali Patel and injuring four others.
The accident occurred near Muktanand Crossroads in the Karelibaug area around 12:30 am on March 14, as captured on CCTV footage showing overspeeding.
Eyewitnesses reported erratic behavior from Chaurasia, alleging he appeared intoxicated and shouted incoherently after the crash, though he denies being drunk.
Chaurasia claimed the accident was caused by a pothole and sudden airbag deployment, which obstructed his vision and led to loss of control.
Police are investigating the possibility of drunk driving and have detained Chaurasia, while efforts are ongoing to locate the car's owner, who was a passenger during the incident.
