Veteran Actor John Ashton, Known for 'Beverly Hills Cop,' Dies at 76

Ashton, who portrayed Detective Sergeant John Taggart, passed away peacefully following a battle with cancer.

John Ashton died on September 26, 2024, in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the age of 76.
Ashton was best known for his role as Detective Sergeant John Taggart in the 'Beverly Hills Cop' franchise.
He had a prolific career spanning over 50 years with more than 200 film, TV, and stage credits.
Ashton reprised his role in the recent Netflix sequel 'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,' released in July 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Robin Hoye, two children, three stepchildren, and a grandson.
