Walmart Announces Annual Stock Grants for Store Managers

Move Follows Recent Wage Increases and Bonus Programs, with Supercenter Managers Potentially Earning up to $530,000 Annually

  • Walmart has announced that it will be providing annual stock grants to its store managers, with the amount varying based on the size of the store. Supercenter managers will receive $20,000 in stock every year.
  • The move follows recent wage increases and bonus programs announced by Walmart. The base pay for store managers has been increased from $117,000 to $128,000 a year.
  • Along with the salary increases, the company has also increased the hourly wage for its non-salary workers to over $18.
  • Store managers can now earn up to 200% of their base salary in bonuses if targets are met. This means a Supercenter manager with a top-end base salary of $170,000 could potentially earn a total of $530,000 after receiving the maximum bonus and stock grant.
  • About 75% of Walmart's store managers started as hourly employees, and the company does not require a college degree for job consideration.
