The lawsuit alleges Butler overstayed his lease by two months after it expired in August 2024, incurring double rent charges of $130,000 per month.
Court documents claim Butler caused damages including mold issues, broken drywall, damaged flooring, a malfunctioning HVAC system, and an unmaintained pool.
The property owner also accused Butler of changing the locks and refusing access for inspections during his tenancy.
This legal action comes shortly after Butler's trade to the Golden State Warriors following a contentious season with the Miami Heat.
