Jeffrey Brannon, 54, is charged with multiple counts of driving while intoxicated and child neglect resulting in injury.
The crash occurred on West Virginia Route 16 in Calhoun County, causing the bus to roll over and injure several of the 19 students on board.
One child suffered a vertebrae fracture and another had a concussion, among other undisclosed injuries.
Brannon's blood alcohol level was found to be significantly above the legal limit, leading to his arrest and a $250,000 bond.
