White House Official Dodges Confirmation of Israel's Adherence to International Law

Jon Finer, Deputy National Security Adviser, avoids direct answer on Israel's actions in Gaza, amidst sinking approval ratings for President Biden.

Deputy national security adviser Jon Finer refused to confirm whether the White House is confident that Israel is following international law after Israeli forces invaded Gaza’s main hospital, Al-Shifa.
Finer stated that U.S. intelligence suggests that Hamas has used Al-Shifa as a command and control facility for the planning and execution of terrorist attacks.
Finer emphasized that this does not mean that Israel should conduct airstrikes or ground assaults on the hospital.
Finer reiterated that when the U.S. sees issues that concern them, they raise them privately and directly with the government of Israel.
