Wi-Fi 7 Certification Begins, Promising Faster and More Stable Wireless Connections

The Wi-Fi Alliance has begun certifying Wi-Fi 7 devices, marking the start of mass adoption for the new wireless standard.
Wi-Fi 7 offers double the channel bandwidth of previous standards, potentially allowing for wireless downloads at over two gigabits per second.
The new standard also introduces Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which can bond connections across multiple frequency bands for more speed and stability.
Wi-Fi 7 is expected to improve performance for high-bandwidth streaming, low-latency wireless gaming, and augmented/virtual reality applications.
Wi-Fi 7 devices are expected to hit the market in 2024, with an estimated 231 million devices set to be available by the end of the year.
