Winnipeg Coach Sentenced to 20 Years for Sexual Assaults on Students

The assaults took place between 2003 and 2016, targeting boys aged 12 to 18, some of whom were provided alcohol and pornography.
Judge Ray Wyant emphasized McKay's betrayal of trust and the catastrophic harm caused to the victims, describing his actions as soul-destroying.
One victim died by suicide post-arrest, and another struggles with suicidal thoughts and substance abuse, highlighting the long-term impact on survivors.
McKay pleaded guilty to nine counts of sexual assault and two counts of luring, with the court citing his position of trust as an aggravating factor.
