Winnipeg Jets Acquire Luke Schenn and Reportedly Brandon Tanev Ahead of Trade Deadline

The Jets trade multiple draft picks to strengthen their roster with veteran defenseman Schenn and forward Tanev.

The Winnipeg Jets secured defenseman Luke Schenn from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Reports indicate the Jets also acquired forward Brandon Tanev from the Seattle Kraken for a 2027 second-round draft pick.
Schenn, 35, has played for eight NHL teams and brings experience as a two-time Stanley Cup champion with Tampa Bay.
Tanev, 33, returns to Winnipeg, where he previously played, and is a pending unrestricted free agent with 17 points in 60 games this season.
Schenn’s acquisition marks his second trade in three days, having moved from Nashville to Pittsburgh earlier in the week.
