Winnipeg Police Fatally Shoot Man Armed with Edged Weapons

The incident occurred after officers responded to multiple calls about a man threatening residents in an apartment building.

Police in Winnipeg responded to reports of a man armed with edged weapons at an apartment on Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers encountered the man in a hallway, leading to the use of a Taser and a firearm.
Despite medical intervention including a chest seal and tourniquet, the man died in hospital.
Manitoba's police watchdog has been notified and is currently investigating the incident.
Acting Police Chief Art Stannard noted that the man was perceived as a public safety risk, swinging weapons and banging on doors.
