Wolf Biermann's Legacy Revived Through New Cover Album

Younger artists reinterpret the works of the former DDR-opposition figure to celebrate his 88th birthday.

Wolf Biermann's new cover album, 'Wolf Biermann re:imagined - Lieder für jetzt!', features 22 songs performed by younger artists.
The album includes both classic and lesser-known tracks, with Biermann contributing variations of his famous song 'Ermutigung'.
Artists like Annett Louisan, Ina Müller, and Alligatoah bring fresh interpretations to Biermann's historical pieces.
The project was initiated by Biermann's wife, Pamela, and produced by Clouds Hill, which also re-released two of Biermann's historical albums.
Biermann will perform at the Hamburger Thalia-Theater on November 13, marking 38 years since his pivotal 1976 concert in Cologne.
