Woman Accused of Killing Cyclist Attempts Jailbreak Before October Murder Trial

Kaitlin Armstrong allegedly murdered pro cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson in May 2022 out of romantic jealousy.
After a monthslong international manhunt, Armstrong was arrested in Costa Rica and extradited to the US.
While being escorted to a medical appointment on October 11, Armstrong fled custody but was recaptured after 10 minutes.
Armstrong sustained minor injuries during the escape attempt and was examined at a hospital before being returned to jail.
Her murder trial is slated to begin October 30 in Austin, Texas, where she faces up to 99 years if convicted.
