Woman Arrested for Running onto Australian Airport Tarmac to Catch Missed Flight

Suspect charged with entering an airside area without permission, damaging property, and possessing cannabis; court appearance slated for Friday.

A woman in Australia was arrested after running onto the tarmac at Canberra Airport in an attempt to catch a flight she had missed.
The incident, witnessed by numerous passengers, was captured on video and shows the woman attempting to gain the attention of the pilot of the plane she had intended to board.
She was arrested and charged by Australian Federal Police with entering an airside area or security zone without permission, damaging property, and possession of a small amount of cannabis.
The woman had reportedly bypassed security to get onto the runway, causing alarm amongst other passengers and witnesses.
Flights at the Canberra Airport were only delayed by roughly 10 minutes as a result of the incident, and she is expected to appear in court on Friday, November 3.
