Woman Attacked and Kidnapped in Broad Daylight in East Oakland

Police are seeking public assistance to identify both the victim and suspect involved in a violent kidnapping near a middle school.

A woman was attacked and forcibly kidnapped on 98th Avenue in East Oakland around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, near Elmhurst United Middle School.
The suspect attempted to hit the woman with a car before exiting the vehicle, punching her multiple times, and forcing her into the stolen car while she screamed for help.
The victim is described as a Black woman in her early 20s, approximately 5'5" tall, with black and blue braids or dreadlocks, wearing a light-colored hoodie and jeans.
The suspect is described as a Black man in his early 20s, also about 5'5" tall, with a thin build, short twisted hair, and a distinctive scar or mark on his left cheek.
The stolen car used in the kidnapping has been recovered, but both the victim and the suspect remain unidentified and at large. Police urge anyone with information to contact them.
