The suspect, Naomi Broomes, 33, was arrested and charged with murder and leaving the scene of an accident.
The incident, described as 'borderline domestic violence', was captured on surveillance video showing a heated argument between Serrano and her ex-boyfriend, followed by Broomes attempting to run over Serrano.
Serrano suffered severe injuries, including an 'internal decapitation', multiple broken ribs, arms, and shoulders, and succumbed to her injuries at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.
The incident is believed to be linked to a suspected love triangle dispute, with Broomes reportedly romantically linked to Serrano's ex-boyfriend.
