Woman Has Leg Amputated After Being Trapped on Bangkok Airport Moving Walkway

A 57-year-old Thai woman had her leg amputated after it got caught in a moving walkway at Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport.
The woman fell while walking on the moving walkway, and her leg got trapped in the machinery, forcing doctors to amputate it above the knee.
The airport has taken responsibility for the woman's medical expenses and is negotiating additional compensation with her.
The faulty moving walkway, installed in 1996, has been closed for inspection to determine the cause of the accident.
There are plans to replace the older walkways at the airport in 2025.
