Zeekr to Offer Advanced Driver-Assistance System Free to Chinese Customers

The Geely-owned EV brand's move reflects a shift in China's competitive electric vehicle market toward automation and safety technologies.

Zeekr's advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), called G-Pilot, will be rolled out for free, starting with a pilot group before public availability in April 2025.
The system enables near-autonomous driving between preset destinations, requiring driver supervision and regulatory approval, which is increasingly common in major Chinese cities.
Zeekr's ADAS uses Nvidia Orin X chipsets and lidar technology, with plans to upgrade to Nvidia Thor chips and additional lidar units in future iterations.
The upcoming Zeekr 9X model, featuring L3-ready autonomous driving capabilities, is set to debut at the Shanghai Auto Show and begin deliveries in the second half of 2025.
Zeekr's strategy aims to compete with Tesla and other market leaders in China's evolving EV market, which is shifting focus from price competition to advanced driver-assistance features.
